Colorado Mountain Home Reveals Spectacular European Contemporary Design

You may not expect to find a mountain home in Breckenridge, Colorado, with sleek lines, lots of glass and a modern flair, but that’s just what this European-inspired contemporary home offers.

“There are several unique factors that make this house so special,” said listing agent Jeff Moore of Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate. “Stylistically, it has a European, very contemporary feel that you don’t see in the mountain market that often. The owners are from the United Kingdom and brought this unique European style here.”

According to the agent, the unique design allows for “beautiful mountain views of the Breckenridge ski area” from one side of the house while taking in the Continental Divide on the opposite side.

The five-bedroom home is located in a neighborhood called Summit Estates, a premier neighborhood in the central Rocky Mountain area. The mountaintop residence offers 4,830 square feet of space on a 2.7-acre private lot, which is typical of the community, according to Moore.

“Each home in this neighborhood has between 2-5 acres, [providing] a lot of room between each property,” he notes. “It also has protected views, [meaning] nothing will ever be built in front of the home to interrupt that view.”

The home’s main level offers an expansive open-concept floor plan that makes the most of the area’s park-like setting. “Everything is glass, and the home sits on top of a mountain, capturing that incredible view,” Moore said. “As far as the contemporary style goes, it is a refined look that is very clean and sleek. The European piece really comes through in the lower level with its very efficient design.”

The kitchen is arguably the showpiece of the multi-level home. “I have never seen a kitchen quite like this in our marketplace here in Breckenridge before,” he adds. Other highlights include an expansive primary suite dedicated entirely to privacy. “It’s extremely intimate and cozy. In the primary bathroom, there is a soaking tub that looks out toward peaks one, two and three of the Tenmile Range [mountain chain].”

The home was recently finished but has never been lived in, making it ideal for someone looking for a move-in-ready property.

“What makes the seller’s situation unique is that they finished the home and had a life-changing event, in a very positive way, and they will be spending their time in the U.K.,” Moore explains. Based on recent sales in the luxury sector, the agent predicts that the home “will go to a buyer from an urban or metroplex setting who wants that European feel in a mountain home. More than likely, it will be the buyer’s second home.”

Donna Caynoski, also with Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate, shares the listing for 2770 Estates Drive in Breckenridge, Colorado. The asking price is $6.995 million.
